REGULATIONS

Pool owners had until the 30th of November 2015 to comply with pool safety laws. They require a certificate of compliance if they sell or lease their property before this time.

Drowning is the leading cause of death in Queensland for children aged 1-4 years. Effective pool fencing helps keep kids safe.

Queensland’s new pool safety legislation introduces a number of key changes. The first is the replacement of 11 different pool safety standards with one safety standard across all pools. The regulations also extended to include all indoor pools and pools associated with hotels, motels, caretaker residences, caravan parks, backpackers, hostels, mobile home parks and homestays.

They also include a phase out of child-resistant doors being used as pool barriers for existing pools. This includes self-closing and self-latching doors which were previously accepted as adequate pool safety measures. It is also now a requirement to display the latest prescribed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) sign near each pool.

We are committed to maintaining the highest pool safety standards for our customers. Our glass fences comply with the new pool safety legislation and the Australian Standards for pool safety. On completion of your fence we will provide you with a certificate of compliance.
